A small intervention for an immense view. That was how we imagined this project for a 500 square feet rooftop overlooking the sea at Leblon neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro.
Any built element above 3 feet need to considered removable and therefore operable in order to be approved by local legislation. Operable “sails”, horizontal and vertical provide protection from the tropical sun and guarantee privacy from other buildings nearby.
Nautical references were adopted everywhere and gives a sense of a yacht deck flying over the Atlantic Ocean.
